Self-monitoring is as important as the work itself. Exhausting yourself to the point where you are not enjoying yourself or the outcome, and being unfulfilled is not worth the trouble for most of us, so we got to watch ourselves.

Even if we don’t make time for ourselves when we know we should, we got to at least do it when it becomes absolutely necessary.

How you’re managing your energy is equally important as having energy. And as with anything, there’s a price you pay when you compromise on self-care.

It doesn’t need to be you spoiling yourself, either. Because that actually might be self-destruction is disguise. But it does need to be a quality time, whatever that involves.
