freedom

(n.) the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.

We have to work our way to freedom, by definition.

If our speech and behavior is influenced by our thinking, then thinking is the first level when it comes to freedom.

Considering people who think alike tend to live together and different communities have different values, our thoughts are not ours at all in the beginning. It could be said that being free is a decision to be made, since you have to be willing to walk a different path than others in a place where one-dimensional thinking persists.

But of course, there’s a flip side. Our actions influence the way we think.

In the end, however, the topic of freedom is deeper than we might assume, though some aspects of it is so obvious that it barely makes sense to even mention. But it’s definitely something more than not being imprisoned.
