Why do we end up regretting the things we didn’t do? Because in that particular time, those things seem insignificant, unimportant, nonurgent and we justified them to ourselves, one way or another.
At the present time, there probably is a thing or two that seem just as unimportant that, if you bother to put some energy to it, will turn out to be a thank-Goodness-I-did-that.
The problem is, however, even if you are in a place where you can be honest with yourself, preserving that is not an easy task. In addition to that, there is such thing as being able to be honest with yourself in one area or many areas while completely avoiding this one critical area. But even if that’s the case, should that be an excuse?
